Backup power is more than just a convenience. It keeps you safe and comfortable when the grid goes down and can provide invaluable peace of mind during an emergency. And its popularity is growing fast. In its list of home trends to follow in 2025, Zillow reports that usage of the term “whole-home batteries” in home listings increased by 62% over the past year—the largest increase of any term.
At Cascadia Solar, we specialize in installing high-performance solar battery solutions, including FranklinWH solar batteries. The FranklinWH aPower2 is one of the longest-lasting and most reliable solar energy storage options available today and we’re proud to be a certified FranklinWH installer.
How FranklinWH Solar Batteries Work
All solar batteries work by storing energy for later use, and the FranklinWH battery is no different. It can charge from solar panels or the grid, creating a bank of power you can use whenever you need it—including during a power outage.
The battery doesn’t need much oversight. It will recharge as it drains and automatically take over when the grid goes down. If you want more insight, you can easily monitor and control your battery from the FranklinWH app. The app allows you to keep an eye on your energy usage, prepare for upcoming storms, and more. We’ll walk you through the app and all its capabilities after your installation so you can feel confident managing your battery.
Benefits of FranklinWH Solar Batteries
The FranklinWH solar battery is safe, reliable, and long-lasting. It’s a high-quality option and a great choice if you’re looking for Tesla Powerwall alternatives.
Whole-Home Backup Power
FranklinWH solar batteries are designed to provide whole-home backup. A single battery can store 15 kWh of electricity. That’s enough to power essential appliances like your refrigerator, lights, and medical devices for several days. With two, you can run power-hungry appliances, or double the run time of your essential loads. If an outage happens when the sun is out, then your solar panels will continue to charge the battery, extending the battery duration even further.
Scalable to Meet Your Needs
You can stack up to 15 FranklinWH batteries for unrivaled backup power. Their scalability makes FranklinWH a great option for large houses, businesses, and even small farms. In addition to being able to hook up multiple batteries, you can also supplement your home power system with a generator or EV module. This option allows you to charge your battery using a generator or your car, giving you unmatched flexibility for your resiliency plan.
Durable & Long-Lasting
FranklinWH batteries are built to last. They’re protected against extreme temperatures, fully sealed against dust, and can be submerged in up to 3.3 feet of water for 30 minutes. The aPower2 uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) technology, which is known for its stability and is one of the safest options for home energy storage. And with an impressive 15-year warranty, you can have peace of mind that your investment will last.
Sleek & Quiet
The FranklinWH aPower2 is a sleek, modern battery that looks great and operates almost soundlessly. If a generator is too loud and clunky for your tastes, a Franklin battery is a great alternative. And of course, no exhaust fumes!
