How prepared are you for a prolonged emergency like a natural disaster? It’s scary to think about, but to stay safe in the aftermath of a crisis, you need to be prepared. Luckily, you don’t have to do it alone!
Jefferson County is committed to building a strong, resilient community that can withstand disaster and recover together. Cascadia Solar is proud to support these efforts as a financial sponsor of the All County Picnic. The All County Picnic is free to attend and a great opportunity to learn more about emergency preparedness while having fun and meeting your neighbors. The event will take place at HJ Carroll Park in Chimacum on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 11 AM to 4 PM.
We’re Teaching About Energy Security & Backup Power
One of the many things you can do to prepare for an emergency is to get a backup power source in place. A major storm or earthquake could leave you stranded without power for days or even weeks on end. Having a reliable backup power source is key to both comfort and safety during a long-term power outage. For customers with medical devices that require constant power, worrying about an outage can be stressful and life-threatening if you are not prepared.
Cascadia Solar will have a booth at the ACP and will be sharing information about solar panels, battery storage systems, and how to improve your home’s backup power plan. We’d love to talk to you about the importance of energy security, answer your questions, and help you decide whether solar and batteries should be a part of your emergency preparedness plan. We offer a range of battery solutions, and we can help you decide which system is best for your home based on your priorities and budget.
Our parent company, Frederickson Electric, will also be there to answer questions about generators, electric vehicle charging, and how to be prepared for outages with a fully electric home. We’ll be using our electric Ford Lightning truck to power both of our booths, so you can see a creative backup power source in action!
Learn About Resiliency Grants for Small Businesses & Nonprofits
If you own a business or run a nonprofit in Jefferson County, you may be eligible for grant funding to help you install solar panels and backup batteries. We recently installed solar panels and Tesla Powerwall 3s for the East Jefferson Fire & Rescue on Marrowstone Island, which took advantage of funding through the Washington State Department of Commerce. They are now more resilient than ever and will be able to operate during an emergency. We’re now working on a similar project for the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding, which is also funded through the Washington State Department of Commerce.
We’d love to talk to you about the funding opportunities that may be available to your business or organization—visit our booth to learn more!
